Interesting. I like mine very much. I did have to work on the edge a bit, but I expected that.

I use it around the camp site and think it is excellent for the price. And if it were lost.. or were to rust... or I hit a rock and roll the blade badly... who cares?

It is the Douk Douk of the Kukri world. Cheap, durable, useful, and not fussy.

I hate to rain on a parade here, but what you have is a Kukri  Machete, from the CS line of South African made machete series.  These deliberately don't have much of an edge, as any edge that you put on a machete is quickly destroyed when pounding away at vegetation.  They are dirt cheap and meant to be abused heavily, as most machetes are.  I've used mine a fair bit and it's still quite solid.

What you may want to look into is their actual kukris, like the LTC kukri (now discontinued) or the Gurkha Kukri which is the official knife of the American Bando Association.  They are significantly more expensive, but are fantastic knives, and in my experience, meet all the hype about Cold Steel.

@Grant yes mate I knew not to expect much but mine came with the edge rolled over on one side,it's no probs and it's much better now  :tu:


I wish I could afford a San Mai cold steel kukri,it's been on my wish list for the last two years  :tu: one day, one day  ::)  :D
