  • Custom paracord lanyards
Hi all

Still a bit of a newbie here, but please check out my recent post to get an insight into me.

Been making custom paracord lanyards for a while now and people seemed to like them so I started selling them.  Made up a number of them for Calvin who gave them away on one of the forum give-aways.

Everything I make is custom made to your requirements and specifications, the paracord colour, the stitch, the attachments, everything.!

I have set up three blogs that show my handy work, see my signature:

- Paracord lanyards (lanyards, monkeys fists, key fobs, tool tags & zipper pullers)
- Paracord bracelets and neck lanyards
- Shockcord lanyards (stretch paracord)

Here is an example of my work.

Lanyards

Cobra & king cobra stitch

Square stitch

Round stitch

Long snake lanyards

Neck lanyards (available in any sticth: cobra, snake, round or square)

Round stitch

Snake and cobra

Monkeys fist (wooden or steel balls)

Tool tag & key fobs

Zipper pullers

Shockcord

1/8th inch

3/16th inch

Prices

All my work is custom made to your specs, so the prices can vary depending on your needs.  However as a guide here are some prices:

Lanyards: about £5 - £10 (depends on the length and the clip used) + postage
Long Snake lanyards: between £10 - to whatever (I have made these to 110cm.... ) + postage
Neck lanyards: £6.50 (supplied with breakaway, cord lock and lobster clip) + postage
Zip pullers: £2.50 + postage
Monkey fist: about £5 - £10 (depends if its a wooden or steel ball and also the clip used) + postage
Bracelets: cobra £6.50, king cobra £12 + postage
Shochcord: £4 - £7 (depends on the clip used) + postage

Postage is always at cost, individual items usually £1 in Europe and $4 to the states, but this obviously depends on the amount you order.  It is always at cost.

Paracord

The cord I am using is genuine US military issue 7 strand kernmantle style 550 cord that conforming to MIL-C-5040 Type III. Its called 550 as the breaking strain is 550lbs. I have a good selection of colours:

Top row (military colours)
- Coyote brown
- Olive drab
- Coyote tan
- Foliage green
- Black
- Grey
- ACU digital (the US combat clothing)

Middle row (standard colours)
- Silver
- Navy blue
- Purple
- Royal blue
- White

Bottom row (standard colours)
- Burnt orange
- Yellow
- International safety Orange
- Red
- Burgundy

Clips and snaps

The clips on the top row are pukker clips, they are all rated AISI 316 steel. AISI is the American Iron and Steel Institute. 316 steel used for surgical uses and has the addition of molybdenum that prevents specific forms of corrosion. This is also known as "marine grade" stainless steel due to its increased ability to resist salsmurfer corrosion.
The clips on the lowe row are not 316 steel, they are more of an alloy.

Top row (all AISI rated type 316 steel)
- Large clip
- Medium gate snap
- Small gate snap
- Small McGizmo clip

Bottom row(all swivel clips)
- Small clip
- Lobster clip
- Trigger clip

Top row (all AISI rated type 316 steel)
- Large shackle (6mm)
- Small shackle (5mm)
- Solid ring (3/8 thickness x 3/4 diameter)

Bottom row (all split rings)
- 1 inch steel with nickel plating
- 3/4 inch steel with nickel plating
- 1/2 inch steel with nickel plating
- Size 5 (about 1/4 inch) steel

Should you be interested in anyone of these designs or have an idea that you would like me to create, please feel free to contact me at this email address:

Thanks
deano

  • What just happened?
Could you possibly measure these areas on the shackles?

For what I want it for the shackle pin would have to be 3mm in diameter, at least 10mm long (inside the "U" ends) and the "U" would have to be about 6mm deep.

This is what I could come up with myself... I clearly need something better :P

Hi

The shackle shown is a 5mm shackle. The 5mm refers to the diameter of the pin.  Although shackles come in various sizes they do not come less than 4mm, which means that the shackle system would not be helpful for your lanyard/knife set up.

The split ring you have there, does not seem the best quality, as you can see from the stretch.

I will PM you later a few options for your lanyard ok.

Thanks
deano

The smallest shackle I've seen (or at least remember) is 4mm or 5/32"

I'm wondering if you might be able to get a 3mm Clevis Pin?

Hi all

Great comments  :D   :D

Been quite busy lately: job, family etc etc, but did decide to try these funky neon colours. I had the Int Orange, but wanted to see what the yellow and green looked like.

I made up these ones just in the neon colour, and whilst good, I actually prefer the colours mixed with black.

...just seen to loose a bit of there punch.!

I expect grey would be another nice colour the neon colours would go with.

Thanks
