SOG should bring it back. I love the design, as it is very useful and built like a tank.

If they do bring it back with a phillips I hope they don't put it on the end of the pliers handle like they did with the Micro Toolclip.

Man am I slow.  I had to read the title of this thread several times before I figured out what "pron" meant.

I would actually rather the handle end Phillips over the mid body mounted Phillips.  I don't know, I just can't wrap my head around mid body mounted tools.  I like them on SAKs, but even then I don't use them much.

The handle end phillips is even more limited in use than the mid body mount because of the limited travel of the handle.

The Micro Toolclip that I had was the original version (received shortly after they were introduced).  The handle was supposed to serve double duty as a pry bar.  That tool rode in my pocket for several years and I don't remember successfully using it to pry anything. I do remember attempting to us it as a pry bar on many occasions, but failed because the limited swing of the handle prevented me from getting it into any useful position to pry from.   When I first saw the new version of the Micro Toolclip my first thought was " That phillips is going to be useless".

I still have fond memories of that Micro because it introduced me to the world of MT's, but I wouldn't carry one again.

Agreed, there aren't many applications where that end-of-handle phillips would work. :-\

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Here's the knockoff- you can tell it's a particularly low quality knockoff because they didn't put the stickers on straight and that really throws off the ergonomics.

What amazes me is how worn it looks, despite having gone straight into a drawer when I got home from Chrsitmas at my In Law's place several years ago when I got it in a 7 in 1 type set.

If it looks that bad after a few years of drawer duty, imagine how sad it would look after a day's worth of use?

The worst part is, it's probably the nicest piece in the set!   :ahhh

Well some folks complain about how bulky it is, and I for one am not thrilled about them having been discontinued....   :pok:

Any chance of getting a scan or high rez shot of the Toolclip section of that catalogue?  I know where there's a wiki that would look great on!  :D
