Fun with my khukri in the sun,
on: May 28, 2012, 07:19:13 PM
I had a result this weekend while at the huge carbooty in the new forest i picked up 2 khukris in not so good condition, well i got out in the sun today and had some fun sorting one of them out, i decided to copy how they cover the scabards the soldiers use, these as far as i know are shorter army type khukri,I had to do a lot of sanding to remove all the rust but i wanted to keep a bit of age to it so left patina, im very happy with it plus not had one since selling my old one in the early 90's , i got that one when i was 14 and had to clean that one up, all in all this has kept my mind of my grandads funeral that im going to this tuesday, well here are some pics,  :tu:

Cheers allan, the leather one isnt done yet ,its kind of moked up i just need some more thick leather, but ill get on with my sword next and come back to that, im really happy with how it turned out plus useable  :tu: my old one had a longer blade than these 2 ,they come in a few different sizes and take a few days to make , mainly out of leafsprings so well made, i read there all differant and a lot of them make there own as a skill handed down, how cool is that  8)  :tu:

im going to try something like this for the other scabard
