My least favourite part of it is that fact is says "special operations" on the light itself :).

Yeah, that stuff is kind of hard to get away from nowadays.....everything has got to be "Tacti-Cool" or they think it won't sell.

But the "mall-ninja" side of me will let it slide!  :D

rp252,

It arrived today. Great light, very bright. Excellent UI on it. I really like the double switch set-up it has. Though I can really do without the totally unnecessary and worthless strobe (I still don't understand why companies still insist on putting this feature in their lights, it's no more disorienting than a full output blast to the eyes!). Got a few pics taken but ain't going to have any beamies done until tomorrow.......review is going to be another day or so.

But it's a real nice light!  :tu:

Good stuff mate, glad to hear you like it :).  I like the secondary switch UI as well.  It does mean there is more to go wrong with the light but It offers more easy one handed mode changing.  I actually like strobe on my lights as long as it doesn't get in the way of the main functionality of the torch, but its all down to personal preference at the end of the day.  Looking forward to reading the full review mate :).

I'm packing away all my flashlights at the moment before I move.  Trying to decide whether to keep my M30 out or to store it with the others...  Tough choice.  :(

Gareth,

Going to get some beamies done tonight......then I'll start on my review of this beaut of a light.  :tu:

rp252,

I agree, the secondary switch does add something else that can go wrong but it definitely makes a multi-mode light much simpler to use. The UI is quite good.

Ok............it's dark enough, time to go take some beamies!  8)

Does it actually say "upgraded" on the light? Pretty tacky IMO.

Its upgraded because there is a single mode regular edition (dont like it anyhow). Not sure if it is printed in the actual light ???

Where's it coming from?

I bought mine from a great EDC deal from here. International shipping costs were 9,9 USD (not received yet, still in transit)

Just got my Nitecore EX10 from eodtech today, so I like it, we'll see if it replaces the P2D in my EDC.

Well, not new flashies per se, but I just ordered some TerraLUX upgrades for my trusty Maglites :)

Got one for the 3D cell and one for my 2AAA. I know a lot of folks don't see the point when you can buy another light for the same money, but I really love Maglites and think they can take a serious amount of beating  >:D

That's my line of thought as well.  I love the idea of putting breathing a new lease of life back into an old torch that would otherwise just sit in a box or wherever.  I've upgraded my 2AA mini, 2AAA mini, and my 2D. :)  The only one I haven't done is my Solitaire as I've yet to see a good upgrade that still uses a AAA cell. :-\

The Quark series is 4 sevens new light .  Here is a link to the normal Quark 123². Just picture it in titanium. and a higher price  The TIs wont actually start being made for a few weeks. Just preorder now.   The TIs will also have a new style LED in them that hopefully will be even brighter .  http://www.4sevens.com/product_info.php?cPath=297_305&products_id=1599
