I noticed that too. The Skeletool is $69. You can get the CX for around $52 on the net. It seems they're trying to charge MSRP. I don't think this will last. Walmart will probably drop them because they didn't sell.  :pok:

At the first of the year most of the more popular LM tools went up around 10% in cost.  The Surge was actually over 10%.  What you are seeing are many retailers adjusting their retail prices to reflect the new cost from LM.  We ordered a bunch right before the end of the year to get old pricing but will have adjust soon since we're close to the end of our stock on many items.  The cheaper prices you see on the net are most likely retailers who still have stock from last years pricing and haven't had to reorder yet.

They haven't had a price increase for some years so it's normal to have an increase every so often.  It's just bad timing with the economy and all but I'm sure they had it in the works long before everything took a turn downward.

If you think about it though the initial cost is pricey but for a 25 year warranty and Leatherman's known good quality it's a hands down winner. Especially if you rely on it day in and day out.

But for $82 I would be just as well off with a Charge ::) why you ask :D after you buy the clip and lanyard ring and the bit kit (which both already come with the Charge I think  ) it puts you right at the same price :-\

Yeah but you gotta go looking for a Charge. Waves, Cores, Blasts, Kicks are everyday items at the big retail places. Fuses, Charges, Crunchies, and a few others are harder to find unless you visit one of our multitool friends Eleatherman, Felinevet, EDC online.   But for the price you are right. Makes more sense to get more for your money by seeking out a Charge.
