Knife carry in the UK

This is an interesting poll I found on British blades . I'm still sure it all depends on where you live , how you dress and how old you are .

This will sounds weird to some but after a few years of "on the job learning" most coppers only stop and search those that "need" to be stopped and searched.

It sound weird and I can't explain it very well but most of my colleagues refer to a sort of "spidey sense".....a way of various parameters in action that assist us in forming a cumulative opinion on a person or place.  Most of these parameters are unexplainable (some could be time of day, location, mood of crowd etc etc) but somehow they work.

I expect the other coppers, doormen etc on the site might know what I talking about......

The short version is....most of you need not worry. :salute: :police:

Yeah, I voted none on that poll.

It's true that experienced coppers know who to bother with as a rule. So if you stay out of trouble and don't look like trouble, you are fairly safe carrying what you like. I do, but then they don't know just how much trouble I can be  ;)

No, if you are foreign it's fine  :P

The law applies to everyone, so like Nick said, sub 3" non lockers only (unless you have a good reason of course  ;) )

I just can't get my head wrapped around the fact of not being able to legally carry a regular blade over there. Think one day (soon) it will be that bad over here too.

Aside from gun crime, what's the extent of knife crime on the US? Is it even a big problem?

Most knife crime in the US would be possession not misuse.

It depends on which area of the US. And to be honest, knives aren't the weapon of choice for most criminals and gangstas, guns are. So as long as they keep shooting each other instead of stabbing each other, the people who know whats best for us ::) hopefully won't be clamoring for the same sort of knife laws you folks have to deal with.

Ours are completely over the top given that it's not as big an issue as the press would have everyone believe. Obviously we have a growing gun problem even without any legal carry allowed - idiots will always find a way to hurt someone I guess  :(

I still maintain that a house brick is a far more dangerous (and effective) weapon than a multitool. Except maybe the Surge, which is like a house brick.
I used to come here a lot.

Have you tried dropping a SURGE on your unshoed foot? Did it by accident once hurt like hell!
Multitools are the best thing that happened to mankind since the invention of the wheel!
