  • Why is it doing that?
I can't seem to find one of those around here. Tried every single big battery shop and eshop around and none of them stocks any. (funny sidenote: a guy at the biggest such store around these places didn't even know RCR123A's existed... :-\) To make a long story short, if any of you owns and wishes to sell/trade or can get their hands on a couple of cells and an assorted charger, I'd happily trade away something for that (including cash). These are to go straight into my ZebraLight H30-Q5 and my on-the-way Fenix L0D-Q4 so if any of you is flashlight-inclined ::) please also advise me for the mAh and type of cell...

Thanks.

Can't you get uniross or ansmann hybrid AAA cells locally?  They seem to me to be just as good as the eneloops.

Neil
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I'm afraid anything other than simple A*, C, D SONYs, Energizers, Kodaks and the like that you'd get in a supermarket are considered rather exotic here... :(

You can get RCR123a at CPF from AW, ships from hong kong. Eneloop you can get from dealextreme, although they are out of stock most of the time.

As for AAA charger check this out, kinda slow and only charge two max, but cheap. http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,6801.0.html

If you are going to use RCR123s, I strongly recommend reading about how to properly handle Li-ion cells on CPF.  Then once you are there, you find AW who sells RCR123s and a charger too.
I personally use AW's Safe chemistry LiMN 3.7V IMR16340 (non Li-ion) on all my RCR123 lights.

For L0D-Q4, you may also find in CPF that people use Li-ion cells (4.2V) to overdrive the LED but it is not a safe practice in my view. Eneloop AAA will be a great choice if you can get them.

Realistically thou if you use your l0d semi often and remember to charge it once a month then eneloop isn't really necessary.

  • What pants?
Did you ever find the batteries you needed? I have some original eneloop AA batteries and the charger that fits the AA or AAA, so I ordered AAA NIMHs from dealextreme, they have some decent batteries for decent prices if you don't mind waiting. I also got a charger and some 18650s for my 3xAAA to 18650 flashlight mod form DX and they've worked great.

Not yet... :-\ I found some "local" shops that do rcr123's ("local" meaning they're "only" a 2.5 hours drive from my current location) but never got around to going down there to do the shopping...
