On the sog website, to me there is no noticeable difference between the two. Is there?

i belive the powerlock 2.0 is a reference to the introduction of the new plier head design, gear covers and the piano locks
old plier head:
new plier head:
but that "powerlock 2.0" no longer is used, i belive
, since now the 2.0 is just called powerlock as well

Isn't it that the Powerlock 2.0 has the gear covers, whereas the old one removes skin whilst you use the drivers?
You should check this as I've assumed it!
I used to come here a lot.
