Just wondering what the proper etiquette is for when a forum member sends you something for free, doesn't even charge you for mailing the item. Tell me, what do you do, I know what I do.

I like to praise in public, unless I forget (Yes I am getting old.....as new stuff enters my head, old stuff is forced out....I have reached my megabyte capacity in the grey matter  ::))

However, I also believe in the public reprimand....as long as it is reasonable and honest.  How else can another forum member be warned of a "dodgy" deal/fellow member.

Praise where its due and public reprimand where necessary.

I always thank them privately but for some reason I can't remember to go to the Feedback forum very often  must be because it's at the bottom of the page :D

I agree with public praise  :tu:

I think that random acts of kindness should be recognised and never taken for granted.

However, I don't always disclose what the item was because it may not be relevant.

Both if it's appropriate, I like to make sure they know they are appreciated.

For instance, thanks Flash for being the first copper to call round who wasn't called out by us first :D
It was nice to see you and the trinket has gone down rather well ;)

I personally base this decision entirely on who it was.  If it's Mike for example I know he likes a lof of fuss so will wave a flag and sing his praises.  :D
