Norton Abrasives Pocket Screwdriver

Here is a cool little pocket screwdriver that I've been collecting for years. They are just so handy that I buy them whenever I see them listed on eBay:

Lee Valley tools makes a new version that is very inexpensive, but they're made out of some cheap metal. The Norton version is a good quality steel. Here is a link to the Lee Valley site:  :tu:

How does it work?

It starts out with a very thin edge and gets progressively larger in size so it fits many different screw sizes.  :tu:

I can't even find individual ones easily in the US--I don't see a need for 200 plus, and that's what the makers want as a minimum order.  My grandfather gave me my whole collection--and nearly all of those are upwards of 30 years old, and are either Ready Tool or Alexander.  The one I EDC a lot is an Alexander that's No. 2 flat head on the long shaft end, with a magnet opposite the clip. Most of mine are that combo, but one has a tire valve core remover in place of the magnet, and another has a No. 1 Phillips on the other end (haven't EDC'd that one since getting jabbed with the Phillips end).

I wonder if we should have some made up with the MTO logo.

We carry and use these pocket screwdrivers a lot in the telecom industry, and usually not as a screwdriver, but as a prying tool or poking tool.

I ordered ten or twelve a few years ago from PocketScrewdrivers.com .

I have a pack from LV and to be honest they are virtually useless. There are barely any flathead screws around anymore, and any that are tend to be small machine screws that these are way too big to fit, or even reach.
