favorite EDC tag team
on: May 24, 2009, 06:30:00 AM
Hello fellow forumites. i think most of us have shared our opinion on what our favorite plier based multi tool or sak is, but i'd like to know what your favorite "tag team" is. by tag team i mean 2 or more tools that you carry on your person that you feel best serves your purposes or preconceived tasks. if you are like me you have several tag teams for different outings, jobs or moods. mine change all the time but here is a pic of my current one, two of them i have aquired very recently. please share what yours are. pics would be great.
thanks for looking and sharing.

I've settled on the Spirit S and a Micra.  I'm considering a two-pocket sheath for the S to add the Vic bit driver.

When I carry a bag it´s my Spirit and a Spyderco Police SS, SE. And a light.

When without bag it´s just a Spyderco (Tenacious or Police) plus a smaller folder or SAK (Fällkniven U2, Spyderco Dragonfly white FRN or Vic Cadet) - will add a lightweight tool soon.

LM Crunch and VIC Super Tinker suit me very nicely, and I'm hard pressed to ever want to change it.  The VIC is there if I ever need to cut anything open, and I love the locking pliers on the Crunch.  Mostly (I'm a bit embarrassed to say) I use the locking pliers to get bottle caps off bottles I can't twist off, but I've also found the locking pliers will serve as a wrench when tightening loose bolts on my wheelchair.  For me that duo is worthy match up.

My usual on the farm is LM Charge ALX and CRKT Guppie.

I've tried the SOG PL and Wenger S557, which is pretty good too.

For SAK/ MT combo's I find a Knifeless Fuse and a Safari Hunter (with serrated gutting blade) or a Swisschamp with Supertool work really well.
I'm back!!

I have a Nite-Ize POCK-its that holds the Core, Vic Electrician, a MAGled, a folding razor knife and a pair of wire strippers. The pouch goes on my belt at work and in my bag when I leave.

Here, have a pic of my EDC:

I haven't quite got mine worked out as I haven't got a single blade knife I'm crazy about yet.
For now though it's either a lone Craftsman, or for days when a little more is needed, a Paratool and a Rambler.

If I'm off down the allotment I also take either the SAK Pruner or Pioneer Harvester.

I imagine the trouble I have deciding is a bit like "real" girls and their shoes  ::)

Besides my ever present Manager, and I know it sounds like a broken record, but since I'm a Moderator,I can say it as much as I want(as long as Boss isn't looking :D),but I've found the Kick and Outrider do me very well.If and when I get off my duff,I want to have a OH Locksmith modded for me to pair up with a Sideclip.

A One Hand Locksmith is one of my ideal 111mm SAKs....one hand opening, blade, file and saw.It sounds like such a practical and logical set-up that I'm surprised that some nation's military didn't spec out a requirement for it.
