Got my liteflux LF2XT
on: June 14, 2009, 09:05:20 PM
I thought I would post now! what I think of the LF2XT and just to put others at ease on the very minor flash, you can read about that in the LF2XT thread here http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=234027&page=3 don't let that put you off buying this light it's very nice IMO.

Well the LF2XT is a AAA light and IMO worth the $60 I paid, lets open the box and see what is inside well the LF2XT,spare o-rings,tub of grease, "BTW I have never used this kind of grease and most likely never will" also you get a ohm shaped lanyard attachment ring for use with either a chain, lanyard or key ring.

At first I wondered about the colour anno used all I can say is mine looks like titanium,I do prefer darker anno but! this titanium colour is growing on me.

Looking very  carefully I think I detect a slight variation in colour i.e the head looks a shade lighter, but! I'm not complaining as it's not a great variation anyway see photo below.

Here's the LF2XT with chain attachment I prefer this as IMHO the clip is well! a bit flimsy that said you may like the clip as they say YMMV

How big is the LF2XT well it's small and just right for wearing around you neck all day,you will hardly notice it there until you need to shine light on something, here it's with items you maybe able to relate too.

And size comparison with mag solitaire LF3XT :)

Front end of all three note the mag was here just for size comparison and that's where any similarities end LOL the mag on max is I bit like the LF2XT's low haha!

I will mention the tint on mine is warm and almost incan, yes I know it's not incan but! it's how I would describe it,it's very pleasing to the eye and it show colours very well including purples I thought my LF3XT was warm but that now looks more neutral compared again this is not a bad thing.

Would I recommend this light well! hell yeah! in fact I should get another soon,I like it very much :D

Oh and just for fun as my wife often looks in,"leave your meat hooks off my LF2XT darling"  :D

Oh such a small spider I hear you say.ok try this one

Any questions please ask  :salute:

Great review JohnM - really informative thanks.

I quite like the look of that tbh. My "take everywhere" lights at the moment are a Fenex E01 on my Keyring and a Leatherman Serac S1 in my Charge sheath. Would this light make me reconsider do you think?
I used to come here a lot.

Yes sir  :salute: for one you can just keep it simple like me  :D and use the CUI compact user interface, that gives you 123 lumens max and well under 1 lumen low, also you can ramp up or down or just pop it too max when you desire  :tu: and if your really clever you can programme it just how you wish  :tu:

Yes 24 minutes to 50% output when used on max with 10440,
and about one hour to 50% output when used on max with 1.5 volt alkaline AAA's  :tu:

Got any links? I'd be more interested in how it fares in its low and default output modes... I'm still after a decent AAA-sized flashlight with an equally decent battery life... :-\

There are little reviews yet on this light but! soon there will be runtime graphs and the like from one reviewer on CPF but! he has yet to receive it,however I found this and I have started my own test on the lowest level using a 1.5 zinc chloride I'll tell you what that is when it's done  :tu:

Test concluded 25 hours  but don't take it to seriously as the battery used was of poor quality, another test should be started with a quality battery I think   :tu:

To the review person. I have just one comment I would like to suggest. You mentioned the head being slightly lighter in colour than the body. May I suggest that in the body with all the knurling and raised surfaces that many shadows are being created thus making the smoother head appear lighter. JUST A THOUGHT-------

I've been meaning to pick one of these up.  The UI operation and switch seem to make the LF2XT sought after.

I'm having a very difficult time transitioning from an AA to an AAA light for EDC though.  The stored energy/size ratio is so much better with AA.  The only AAA lights I tend to keep are the single-level "survival" type lights, such as the Fenix E01 and the ARC AAA-P.

Yes Paul and it holds a dark/bright  ???  secret it will run on 3.7v 10440 rechargeable battery taking it to over 160 lumen's  :ahhh

for a AAA light that screaming bright, mind you I don't recommend using it continuously at that power just for a few minutes at a time,it more for the "WOW that things bright" factor  >:D I normally just use the low and med levels  :salute:
