Odd Diesel Moment
on: July 23, 2009, 01:56:52 AM
Had my Diesel with me, and was checking the tools to see how tight they were.  I kicked the scissors out, and when I tried to use them, I found that spring arm had sprung away from the scissors.  When I worked the scissor arm, the spring arm would jump up onto the scissor arm.   ???

Took just about 30 seconds to adjust the spring arm, and the scissors now work fine.

Interesting, though.  I hadn't noticed it before, as I hadn't needed the scissors.  But just kind of took me off guard.

(And I'm not going to mention that I had to use my Charge ALX to adjust the tension...  I just like to think that my MTs look out for one another!   :D)

Hmmm, I haven't used my Diesel enough to comment on how likely that is to happen. :-\ Good that you were ready with a back-up tool though. :tu: Charge ALX to the rescue! :D

(Image removed from quote.)

That 'tis the spring.  It would pop right over the handle whenever the scissors were work.

And, all joking aside, I did only have mine for about a day and half, and hadn't even used the scissors prior to that.  A bit strange.  However, the work fine now, and the rest of the tool is quite solid.  I rather like the Diesel design.  It's compact and fits my hand well when working.  The few times I've carried it since, I've actually just forgone the the sheath and stuck it in my pocket.  Carries quite nicely that way.  (Must be inspired by the Charge and it's pocket clip, which is my preferred way to carry it.  But, then, I detest that leather sheath.  Really need to get something else.)
