Gerber collections - show yours.
on: July 29, 2009, 03:37:21 AM
I would like to see what you have for Gerber multi-tools out of curiosity

I don't have that many models at the moment, but my plan is to add to the list slowly.

1. Gerber Radius (Huge hunk of plastic. Interesting if quirky design).
2. Gerber Suspension (Looks so much like a lot of cheap Chinese designs on the market. Is smaller, and the tools lock).
3. Gerber Evolution 650 (Removable plier heads which don't slide into the handle).
4. Gerber MP600 BO (From a Gerber OTIS kit).
5. Gerber MP400 (Nice small light tool).
6. Gerber MP600 Fisherman (A bit awkward to store).
7. Gerber Flik (Sort of like a Leatherman Wave, with folding tools I like to call stumpy).
8. Gerber Recoil (I call this one the nutwacker).
9. Gerber Recoil (Pliers fly out at ludicrous speed at a press of a button).
10. TOP - Gerber Solstice (little pair of scissors with an odd design).
11. BOTTOM- Gerber Clutch (little MT with a few nail braking tools).

I seem to recall someone having 50 Gerbers or something. Can't seem to find that photo. I could be mistaken.

I do not have any pics of them (as they are back in CONUS in storage), but I have:

- 1993 edition Gerber Multi-Plier with bit kit.  This is the 2nd edition, 1st edition has scissors similar to Victorinox.  2nd edition has the punch/awl blade.  I keep it in my gunsmithing box.

- Gerber Gator Serator lockblade.

- Gerber Mark-II knife.  Bought in 1991 at the PX at FT Jackson, SC.  I used it in Iraq.  Good for cutting 550 cord or taking-out sentries...LOL

- Gerber BMF 9" blade with sawteeth.  Bought in Alaska 1995.  Not made anymore.  Never used.  No, not for sale, either!!!

I'll get whatever comes my way if it's a bargain Bob!

I'd quite like a BO MP600, or a Crucial though.

I have my Recoil , Curve , Lite & Blunt nose BO MP600 with carbide cutters. Will try & get pics in the next couple of days.
The MP600 is rock solid but a tad awkward(deploy pliers , deploy tool & then retract pliers). It is tank like, in a good way, though :D :tu:
I would love a photo with my Carbide Cutter Gerber next too a LM ST300  >:D :D :D :D. Anyone want to donate a ST300 too me  :D :D :D

I have about 30 gerbers, probably more. the suspension, tread and crucial are of lower quality than the rest in my opinion. my favorite is hard to say, I like the 600 series, proscout and the old tools. I will admit that 10 to 15 years ago when leatherman tools had such small pivots the gerber tools had much wider and stronger pivots. the flik fisherman is a nice model but the drivers. the deisel is my favorite new tool from them.
