I would say Gerber and Buck. This is because they are good, affordable knives and they are available at all big box stores...

My choice is the Sebenza, cos I've never used a better folder. However due to my lack of experience with many other brands of knife, could members please send me knives from other makers so that I can make a more informed choice?  :D I doubt I'll find anything better, but I like a challenge, the more knives the better  :D

I like CRKT for price and design ideas.  Boker makes great knives at a great price.  After getting my first Spyderco....they are my new favorite.

That seems quite a common thought.  Can't say I know enough about him personally, but the whole sales angle is way OTT if you ask me, although some vids do show the strength of the knives.

Still, besides that they do make some good blades and I have been pleased with a few of their products.

That knife has been on my want list ever since I first saw it (back when it was around £180ish.  Now it is £230's/240's and just too pricey.  I absolutely love it.  :drool:

See, there's the thing.  If I could carry it every day without fear of losing it then I could just about justify it to myself.  But at £230 or so it's just to much for a production knife that'll sit unused. :-\

Well, as there ain't a multiple choice option I chose Case.......I currently carry both a CRKT and a couple Case knives, so my choices have long ago been made and they have served me well.

i think i missread the OP maybe so i voted "other" b/c i believe the most popular brand, at least for me, is a SAK. to me it is a knife 1st that happens to have options.
i do like spyders and given the other poll choices i would choose spyderco. i did hesitate at the case button but to me they are for collectors and the new ones just don't do it for me. check out ebay and google "case"... you're lookin at over 4,000 hits at any given moment. that's pretty popular.
