Multi-Keychain Help Needed
on: August 25, 2009, 08:57:14 PM
I'd like to get a couple of decent valet style keychains, like the Bison Designs Circle Key Caddies from REI:

I have only been able to find a few online that were good quality, but the shipping charges to Canada were ridiculous.

Does anyone here know of any reasonably priced sources for these keyrings that they could recommend, or even have any they'd like to sell?

I am not fussy about the brand, but as long as it is decent quality. I had a cheap one once and it started to fall apart almost immediately.

In case anyone is interested, after a lot of research, these are the best brands I found that make these spider keyrings: Wenger (discontinued), Troika (expensive), Bison Designs, Roots, and Columbia. Lexon Designs looks like they might have a decent version as well.

I believe EDCdepot has a design similar to those, and he ships to the great white north.

Thanks Zack. Yes, I noticed those but they are a carabiner style which is a little different than what I would prefer.

Good idea though. I'll ask him if he can get the other type for me. He does have great shipping rates to Canada.

I use a couple of those, a bit heavy but very useful.  No idea as to brand they just have a US pat. number on them.  Unfortunately I bought them years ago so can't help with a current source  :-\
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Wenger do one http://www.heinnie.com/n8qzks273135/Knives/Wenger/Accessories/Wenger-Chain/p-92-202-482-3388/

Yes, Heinnie is the only place I could still find the Wengers. Unfortunately, with $12 shipping, it would cost about $36 to get one them.  Even without shipping, $24 is a bit more than I was hoping to spend, especially since I was hoping to get two.

They are a great piece of kit though and I am very sorely tempted.

However, if a kind UK resident grabbed one for you and posted it over it would work out around $27CAD

Just an option ;)

Thanks Neil. I appreciate it and will keep that option in mind. They still cost quite a bit more than I was hoping to spend, but you have made it even more tempting.

@ecfiffer: Thank you too. Unfortunately, we don't have Target up here. I already check Walmart and had no luck.

The Walmarts in Canada are anemic imitations of the US ones. We don't have nearly the variety or sales that you guys do. Some of ours don't even stock multitools!  :ahhh :D

Felinevet used to be an authorized Bison reseller.  You may want to check with him too.
