Here's whee I work, at least one day a week- this is one of 13 decks on this particular ship, and it's usually loaded with cars.  As a cargo surveyor I work at various dockyards, and the one where this ship was docked is the port where all European cars come into Canada.

You can see some of the big cranes in the background, and an example of some of the cool stuff I see.

Here's some pics of the machine shop where I work. (The pics were taken from up on a balcony, hence the odd angles) All of the machinery is used to cut metal into various shapes.

Is that where the old Volvo assembly plant used to be on the waterfront or do they offload somewhere else now?

I can't take pictures of where I work.  It's a cube farm on a client site....very exciting  ::)

I work for a large multinational IT and hardware company that bought us out last year and continues to put the screws to us.

Needless to say, due to their actions, myself and pretty much all the affected employees make it a point of buying computer supplies from their competitors :D

I have a ton of photographs of my work place, but I won't post them as they contain students.

However, the Board as seen fit to put online a 2003 site evaluation. So if your interested in where I work and don't mind reading a lot of outdated information, here you go as a PDF file.

There's no assembly here, just offloading.  There is a mechanical bay and body shop for each manufacturer on site for repairing shipping damages, but that's it.  Volvos are offloaded here though.  I deal with the Volvos, Mercedes, BMW, Land Rovers and so on- pretty well every European brand except VW and it's affiliates (Audi, Porsche) as they come in on a different shipping line.

It's roughly an 11 acre parking lot with a dock at one end.  Here's a link to Google Maps:

Yes, every one of those white spots is a car!  There's almost 5,000 cars pass through there in an average week.

This is where I work at night:

I remember that now.

For some reason I was thinking it was on the Halifax side, not over at Woodside.

I work in whatever courthouse records room they send me to, which can either be a fairly decent, comfortable place, or a rather filthy little dump.  Or anything in between...

However, as I'm not working at the moment...    :-[

2006 toyota tacoma (office)... i am a construction manager for a national homebuilder. ATM i run two communities with 10 homes under construction in one and 15 homes in the other. they range from 1850 sq. ft. to 3100 sq. ft. on lots ranging from .22 an acre to .35 acre. a good bit of my day envolves baby sitting contractors, homeowners and realstate agents. oddly, they all know how to do my job better than me.  ::)
the economy is still quite slow but people are still buying homes. as a result i am carrying the workload of 2 construction managers. when i 1st started with this company there were 8 of us.... now there are 2. i use to have a field office on the jobsite. now it (and most all of the support staff at our main office) are gone to cut down the overhead.

Dunno how well this will show up, as it's linked from FB, but here's my bar:

Here's the stage:

Here's the sound board and dance floor:

Here's the other side:

These were all taken last Christmas, hence all the extra lights.  The LEDS hanging from the ceiling and garland around the railings aren't normally there.
