With another woman!

So Sunday afternoon and it's sunny out, time to go shopping. First I went to a clothing store in an outdoor mall. on the way back to my car I had to cross a 4 way stop sign. I waited till the car coming from my left pass towards the right, then start to walk across. Well the driver coming towards me didn't feel like to wait for her left turn, so she gas it and cuts me off with less than two feet to spare, and manage to hit the center curb with the back tire at the same time. Lovely.  ::)

Then I went to grocery store for food. On my way out I pushed my cart and start to wait in one of the lines. The woman walking behind me tried to cut me off with her cart (full of stuff), and wedged in between my cart (with two items inside) and people in front. Then she started yelling in french and acted like ready to fight for the spot, and inching her cart forward trying to push me out. Normally I'd never let ass holes like that get their way, but I was with someone else and didn't feel like it so I just told her to go.

Urg, do I have those nonthreatening look that everybody love to take advantage of or what, maybe I need to start being an a-hole too to change that...

People are getting ruder and pushier here as well.  >:(

You have to pick your fights, or you will always be angry and stressed out. I eventually gave in and just accepted certain actions as now being the norm so that I could walk around outside without going insane.

In many cases, I also came to understand that the behaviours were due to cultural differences. There are so many dangerous and aggressive drivers now that I have become an extremely defensive pedestrian. I don't understand how many accidents aren't happening.

But you still have to draw a line somewhere or you will start to feel victimized and full of rage.

The other side is that I was taught to be very understanding and obliging, versus aggressive and pushy. In other words, to be polite and rise above the situation. Problem is, a person can no longer behave like that anymore or they will get squashed and cast aside.

I think it is going to get much worse as well. 10 years from now, I bet we will be thinking of the good old days where the worst thing you had to worry about was a French lady butting in line.

Have you ever considered getting an aggressive face tattoo?  :D

What a way to go....

It's amazing how folks seem to think pedestrians are supposed to get out of the way of cars.  I was crossing a parking lot last summer and a guy almost ran me over.  When he got out of his car I told him he should probably watch where he was going.  He told me it was a parking lot and so he didn't have to.  I told him to contact his insurance company and see what they thought of it...

Of course I firmly believe that right or wrong, the pedestrian is always going to lose, and so I usually assume every driver is going to run me over if I don't watch out for them.  When I'm the driver, I assume every pedestrian is going to step out in front of me without looking, which, sadly, many do.

Reminds me of a couple of months ago in a supermarket when I saw a man push in front of my wife when she had just started putting her stuff on the conveyer belt. He just walked right in with his trolley full as she was at the end of the counter and I was checking out some batteries on a display nearby.

My wife just looked at him in amazement as she is to classy/polite (got to say that chaps) to say anything. I walked over and politely said to her "did this gentleman just push in?" The man butted in and said he just "saw a gap and went in".

Well.....I politely said, "The best thing for you to do right now  is just f**k off out of it",  I then grabbed his trolley and launched it down the isle.

One of the girl checkouts seen the incident and quickly opened another  checkout to diffuse the situation. When he was done chasing after his shopping, he kept looking at me for some strange reason  >:D ...so I just smiled at him. I could hear him mumbling something but that was the end of it.

TROLLY RAGE!!!! it's called  :tu:

I love shopping trolleys!

They put this neat handle thing on one end, most people think it's intended for them to drag one handed behind them (and all 4 wheels multi-directional means the cart is probably mostly sideways!)

I love when I'm pushing my trolley along in the supermarket and someone blocks the isle with their trolley, and is off investigating some produce 3 isles over... (this is my favourite game of all) I either play smashup derby or I grab the cart as I push it out of the way and drag it down the isle and around a corner...

People here butt into line too, it's usually the old folks with 3000 items saying something like "you're younger, you can wait longer than me, I might die if I don't get through this checkout line soon!" Many a time I have let elderly people with few items pass in front of me when I have a cartful and there is not many cashiers on duty at the time.

That passes onto the buses as well, it seems that today's youth must sit across several seats at once from the stressful day they've had... and don't even think of asking them to move, even if you're handicapped, elderly or even 8 months pregnant (in fact, they prefer the reserved seating near the doors) I've heard them say "shut up you old bat" and similar many a time. I usually get a look of shock and horror when I ask people to take my seat that rather obviously need it.

I guess I'm lucky.  I live in a fairly rural area, and most people around "these here parts" are fairly polite most of the time.  I'm still amazed at how often someone will voluntarily let me around them in line when they have many items and I have just a few.

My wife tells me that it's worse with women at the grocery store, however, and she occasionally complains about a woman behind her who constantly shoves her cart (trolley) against her because she's in a hurry.  That never happens to her when I'm around.  I kinda wish it would, because I'd like the opportunity to shove it back.

I would let anybody in as long as it's a fit female

People with just a few items are directed to the "5 items or less" checkout - unless it's a fit female  :)

I will declare war on anyone else.

i grew up in a very polite society... as time has passed and more people have moved into the area i have noticed that those people brought their rudeness with them. yet, they are so greatful to get away from what they left behind.
still, we have trained a good many of them and, at least in the town i live in, most people will hold the door for others and a "thankyou" is usually returned.
