Leatherman Pulse with midline groove

I love this Leatherman Pulse. The diamond coated file has a midline groove. It is an early model. Does anyone know the story with the groove, and if it is a rarer version?

The groove in LM diamond files was designed for sharpening fish hooks, and was also standard on PST IIs.

Is it a rarer version? In my opinion no. There seems to be as many of those as the others.     :)

The Pulse my wife EDCs has the hook sharpener also.
