Large Sebenza wanted.
on: November 13, 2009, 12:18:45 AM
Ok, so I have been lusting after a Sebenza for a few years now, and I really want to scratch that itch.  I am willing to part with my most of Spyderco collection and include some LM's for a Large Sebenza (preferbly with Micarta or Rosewood inlay). Here is what you would get.

1) 440v Native Plain Edge
2) S30v Native Combo Edge
3) AUS-8A Endura Fully Serrated (older generation with molded pocket clip)
4) ATS-55 Delica Combo Edge
5) ATS-55 Cricket Fully Serrated
6) Skeletool CX
7) Freestyle CX
8) Supertool 300

Also open to the Small Sebenza.

I know its a long shot and I'm not expecting anything, just wanted to throw it out there.

They are works of art and excellent engineering.  I want a knife I can carry everyday and not get tired of.  I have a few knives that come close, but there is something about them that bugs me.  I believe the Sebbie will give me everything I am after.

Not with me! :D

Nah, I've seen Dunc's, Flash's and maybe Ben's (I'm not completely sure about that), and they are, without doubt, fantastically well made and high spec knives. If that is your bag, I can't imagine that you'd be disappointed by one.

For me, I expect to have to put fuel in something that costs that much :D I'd be frightened to use it!

That is pretty much what it is for me.  There are very few things that I get that keep me really interested and keen and the Sebbie is one of them.  :tu:

Well the way I look at it this is something I can pass on my my boy and hopefully one day his.  It has a sense of timeless engineering that will never go out of style.  Like Ben, everything I own is a user, and I actually prefer to find things second hand, this Sebbie if I ever get one will not be an exception.

Hmmm...I saw that thread I hope you don't mind but I am going to have to decline.  Perhaps you could put it towards your own Sebenza...I know deep down you want one...Don't worry I won't tell Ben.

:D

Deep down, I want absolutely anything that has a value :D

I'm genuinely not slating the Sebenza, I just wouldn't spend that much on a knife personally. I'm not as rich as Ben - he lives down south. South of "The Divide" :D

I reckon Dave is like that guy in that youtube video and has crudely cut out pics of Sebenza's on his walls. :D

Worse than that - I've got Roadie's Leatherman timeline ;)

Hamiltons? I don't know what that is sorry  :-[

If you mean the stopwatches, they are various makers. I don't really seriously collect them, but I have a soft spot for the things when I see one I like  :P

Bloody word filter (it's 'cos you said twat)  :P

They're actually all stopwatches, I can't be sure which those are as that's an old pic, but I have quite a few of them (about 20 I guess). I probably ought to offload some of them actually as they're mostly just gathering dust!
