I just today found a cool program thats been around for a little bit. Solidworks, which is one of the most popular solid modeling programs in the industry, has started the "Solidworks Engineering Stimulus Package". Essentially, the program gives you a FREE download of the student version of Solidworks(still very well equipped, just not ALL the bells and whistles of the premium), all sorts of tutorials to teach you how to use the program, and at the end you get to take the CSWA(Certified SolidWorks Associate) certification exam for free!!! This is a huge deal, and incredibly awesome for someone in the industry who wants the certification or a brush on on skills, or for someone who wants to learn from start to finish how to do solid modeling! I'm starting mine this weekend because I'm not sure how long this program is going to last. Plan your schedule though, the license for the program only lasts 90 days, so you have 3 months to learn the tutorials and get your practice in before the test.
