Powerassist water resistance?
on: November 15, 2009, 05:10:31 AM
Just wondering what do you guys with it think about the water resistance of powerassist? The assist mechanism seems to be sealed and if I were to get it wet it would take forever to dry, or if I scrub it down with soap it would be hard to rinse it clean even.

Is that a valid concern?

This is a concern of mine too. I called them up to ask about it and while hey said no one had sent one in saying it was an issue, they also didn't say whether it COULD be an issue.

I owned a Powerassist for a few weeks and from what I can remember the enclosed assist mechanisms didn't look waterproof.

The only concern I'd have is water getting in and creating rust or even that foggy pre-rust oxidation that would take away the smoothness of the mechanism peices.

I'm pretty sure the manual tells you that you can wash it under fresh water/mild soap and then oil it. So, I would say if cleaned properly afterwards, you should be able to fully submerge this thing.
