Guys/Gals,

What of the same model of knife do you collect?  eg: over three Spyderco Kopa's, or Kiwi's?
Maybe you have started a collection of Case trappers? I haven't a collection of the same
of anything yet but was thinking of it.

Yes I think that counts. :D

I have to say it's not how I buy things, quite the opposite in fact.  I happen to have ended up with 2 Waiters and 2 Spartans but that's more by chance than by design.

Of course it counts!   :) I'd forgotten about the amount of guys who have SAK's.   I was running
a search on Google and found some guy who has this...

Not anymore. I did have multiples of several different models for a while. I liked to see the minute production differences that came over time with the design evolution. But, I've bounced out of the collector field for now so my multiples are gone and all that remains are personally meaningful tools or tools that I carry and use regularly.

I am very much a pattern collector, but just in slipjoints. So far my specific pattern collections of any significant quantity amount to.....

Case Gunboat Canoes
Case Large Stockmans, both #75 and #47 patterns
Case Fullsize Trappers
Case Seahorse Whittlers
Case Fullsize Canoes
Case Fullsize Cooperlocks
Case Folding Hunters
Case Sowbellys
Case Classic Jumbo Stockmans
Queen pattern Gunstocks
Queen pattern Railsplitters
Queen pattern Canoes
GEC #23 pattern Pioneers
Henckels Copperheads
Scout Knives from all makes
Sodbusters from all makes

And on top of that I collect similar patterns of these above under other brands like fullsize Canoes from Robeson, Schatt & Morgan, Winchester, Camillus, Rough Rider, etc. Large Stockmans similar to the Case #75 pattern from the likes of Queen, Buck Creek, Rough Rider, Camillus, etc, etc.

Pattern collecting is addictive as it gets!

2tap,

I'm poised on the "buy it now" button on a Queen Cutlery knife and was wondering how you find them
fit, finish, use?

thanks

Sean,

Until the arrival of GEC, they were the best built production made slippies out there. Even now I have several that rival some of my GEC's. Queen builds a high quality piece. Be it their own Queen Cutlery brand, or Schatt & Morgan, or Robeson, or MooreMaker, or earlier Winchester, or some of the older Case Classics.......whichever, they are great pieces.

I own alot of them and highly recommend the brand.

I actually have two more variants since this one was published...

More if you include Wenger Rangers, which of course I don't since they aren't OHT's, even though they are outfitted the same.  :D

2tap,
thanks for the info.  I kind of figured they were of good quality from looking at them closely via
good quality pic's online.

Grant,
That's a very nice assortment of OHT and such.  :tu:

While not a variant per se, I forgot to include this OHT inscribed with the name of a tanker in Singapore:

Well that is interesting; any idea why a company would go to such lengths to promote the name of their tanker?  Was it for the crew members, and even then, how would such a limited scale run be feasible; don't those tankers have crews of around fifty or so, much less than the 500ish scale order needed? o.o;

Actually since the tanker's name is on it, I imagine it was an "attaboy" for someone who did something noteworthy.  Here's the article:

One of these days I'll have to try and take better pictures of it, but for now I have to wonder where Cpl Au Yong Boon Chung is today and why he no longer has his knife?   :ahhh
