Triangle tamper proof security bit
on:
November 28, 2009, 08:15:57 PM
Out of the hundreds of security bits I've seen online...I can't find this one! It's a triangle, but with the hole in the center for the tamper proof pin.
Anyone know where to find one?

McMaster-Carr has triangle bits. If you can't find the security version you can use a flathead to break the post and then use one of these regular triangle bits.

the right sized spanner will work too... not ideal, but enough to get the screws out.
The difficult we do immediately, the impossible takes a little longer.

Interesting- I have a security bit set with about 20 different bits in it, and no triangular ones. The closest I get are phillips type bits with only three tines.

I took Spoons advice and tried a flathead...A good firm twist, the post breaks, and the flathead turns the screw! No special bit needed
