scored a trio of benchmades today!
on: December 15, 2009, 07:01:19 PM
I got a new benchmite2, vex, and a slightly used afo. I have always passed on buying benchmade red class knives before being that they are made in china and taiwan, boy was I missing out. These are just as well made as their blue or black class knives. I know the steel is not as good but the fit and finish are top notch. :tu:

im going to start carrying the benchmite, i can see it getting used alot opening boxes. It only has a aus8a blade so i know its not going to stay sharp very long. I touch mine up before they get dull so no biggie.

understand jim it's not just the steel used but the way they heat treat it.

an average steel heat treated properly can be a very good blade/tool.

BM does em pretty good!

I think BM says rockwell hardness of 56-58 on their aus8, thats not to bad. It will sharpen easy. :tu:

Good idea about keeping them sharp.  I do mine everyday so it's ready for work the next day.
I keep my sharpmaker ready to go on the table.  I think you'll find the serrations super on
cardboard.  :tu:
