Wave Blade Change
on: December 25, 2009, 06:34:16 PM
So I got my Wave back from Leatherman a few weeks ago, and noticed something different this morning when I was opening packages. They threw a couple of new blades in it while they had it, and low and behold the stamping residue around the thumb holes has been ground away!  :o

The grind is a somewhat rough one, so there is no loss in friction and usability, but it is indeed neat to see. I'll post a picture later, can't right now, my son is currently in the middle of a 12gig sync for his new MP3 player...

Are you sure it is the same tool?

I don't know, I don't remember any distinguishing marks on the one I sent in.

The blades appear to be new. They have the factory ground edge on them, and have no sign of ever being used (except for this morning).

You know, I never actually had that thumbhole problem everyone always complains about on any of my LMs, Wave included. But that is pretty cool to see. I wonder if those blades were just especially bad that they felt they should grind it before the sent it to you, or if that's a sign of something LM is going to be doing in production going forward?
