An ideal beater, because the blade is obviously designed to stand some abuse without failure.

Half Ton has very decent fit and finish (better than some Byrds I've examined) and gets good reviews on the interwebs.

At this price you can afford to buy several Half Tons and drop them into toolbox, tacklebox, glovebox, etc.

Well, it's made in China just like the Byrd lineup, hence the lower price. But it's still backed up by Kershaw's warranty and great customer service if needed.

Blade appears to be the same steel used in Byrds. My specimen has a little better fit and finish than various Byrds I've examined.
