Just went to their site and see that they updated some parts of it. It doesn't look to bad either.

All those messages about each knife kind of reminds me of the Gerber site... but I think I like it so far.

With SOG rolling out their "new" site not too long ago I guess Leatherman was starting to think theirs was a little long in the tooth as well.  I'm just glad they didn't get rid of the "Retired Tools" section.

Looks like they are structuring their "HOME" page to more distinctly seperate their various lines. (Tools, Knives, Pruners, etc.)

Perhaps they are planning to expand their range of products soon? Venture into something new?

This is a little bit of an off-the-wall comment but... the comments about the tools on the home page remind me of the quotes on the the hot-sauce packets from Taco Bell (Things like "I dont do well under pressure" or "I'm taking the day off, see next packet"). Just a pointless thought I had.  :grin:

Funny!  :D

Actually, I took those comments to be a direct copy of the CRKT Guppie and CRKT Zilla-Tool web pages.

Notice the uncanny similarities?  ::)

No, I can't really see it.  ;) Maybe they took their idea and just gave them a Taco-Bell-Hot-Sauce attitude.

One aspect of both the old and new Leatherman site I value is that it covers their retired tools.

Check out the "tool stories" section...it's got some "my leatherman saved my life" type stories. My fave is the either the one where they use their LM to cut an umbilical cord or the person who's in africa who had to use the scissors on their wave to cut their hair...

Just wanted to say a big +1 on this. I can be really annoying trying find information on many companies old products, but LM has done a GREAT job by keeping all that information together!

That's the one tale that has me skeptical.  Nose hair, maybe.  Those scissors are much too small for anything other than string, fishing line and not much else.

the umbilical cord would not be too much of a difficult task for any scissors as long as they were sharp, surgical scissors are not great big beasts, often quite small themselves.

When sharp, the Micra scissors is excellent for trimming a mustache or individual hairs on a sideburn or eyebrow.

I concur. However, even the large scissors on the Gerber Freehand are not up to par for thick trimming. For kicks I tried to trim my beard down for shaving when Spring rolled it with the Freehand. It took forever, I stopped less than halfway through mainly because my arm was fatigued from the weight and my finger hurt from pushing the tiny handle. I suppose it would work for hair cutting in a pinch but it would be akin to a flowbee (it would suck).

Yeah, I kinda thought that too, or that person just had a lot of time on their hands...or not a lot of hair! O0
