Y'all convinced me. Carrying a dedicated folder rocks.

Since carrying the folding Razels, I've come to the conclusion that a folder is a much nicer, cleaner cutting option over using the blades on a MT or SAK.  Not that the SAK/MT blades are inferior, it more that the weight and balance of a folder is designed to be optimal.

SAKs and MT's are always a little unbalanced and just don't have the same level of balance and smooth cutting.

So, in short, y'all were right.  ;)

Yup use the MT for nasty stuff and the ded.Folder for the ultra sharp blade when needed.

A good folder plus a good MT are a dynamic duo. I don't leave home without them.

I went the other way, from a dedicated folder to a MT/SAK :twak:

your right the balance, efficiency, power is better with a dedicated blade
but I can deal with that in place of more tools in one.

but good on you :salute:

What part of Ore-gin ( :P ) are you in Mr W? I'm close to Rainier, shop in Longview WA.

The ERG's of multis are poor for bladework , SAK's are much better but not as good as a dedicated folder . Of the SAK's the Farmer and Soldier are about the most ergonomic .

The down side is that a dedicated folder can only do one thing .
