New guy from Trinidad
on: January 09, 2010, 10:01:17 PM
Hi good day everyone,
I love mt.org! Excellent site with lots of information. I've been on and off the site for the last year or so, reading reviews and other comments, and I've finally decided to join. Just a little bit about myself: I'm a student pursuing a postgrad degree in Conservation, so I'm outdoors most of the time. Multitools have greatly helped me over the past year in the field, Although I only have a Leatherman Surge and a Blast. With those two I can accomplish 99% of the work I do. However I think I've gotten bitten by the bug, :D and I just ordered 5 SAKs from felinevet store  :climber: since I've never had an original SAK before (gasp!)

I'm from the Caribbean so its really difficult to get quality tools here, and when we do its ridiculously expensive. Currently a LM Core retails for about $165US after conversion and a Swisstool goes for over 200, and these are available from only a few stores. Anyways I hope to contribute more of my experiences to this wonderful forum.

Cheers
DSN

Thanks guys!
Just pulled the gun on the 5 SAKS. Just paid for a Huntsman, Tinker, Recruit, Adventurer and a Ranger - all used. Whew. I wanna  have a wide variety of options available from different brands. Hope I don't get carried away like Chako or some of the other guys  :) from what I've read.

Are there any other members from the Caribbean or anywhere close by? I feel like a lone MT user in this part of the world. Probably why I didn't join the forum sooner.

Actually England only just avoided a loss against South Africa so we're not in great shape ourselves.  Still 1-0 up in the series though with only one match to play. :)

The Aussie chaps seem to be just about holding their own against Pakistan. ;)

Hey guys,
Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone.

And you probably don't want to get me started on cricket since I've been disappointed with the West Indies cricket :( for a long while now. So I am currently open to discussing my other favorite sport: FOOTBALL! (soccer to the muggles  :pok:) It's the World Cup this year guys :ahhh!
