Thanks so far guys. Not really worried about the size of the knife; as i said, it will go in a pouch.May well still go for the sentinal, although may go for something with a saw, as the one on the spirit seems a bit small (doh, i've started it again!)
there is also the plain edge new-soldier by swissbianco if you are really anti serrated when it comes to the new swiss soldier and OHGak.The woodsaw i am guessing is larger than the spirit one and probably more comfortable to use.Sorry if i am Y, Z and X'-ing. i don't quite understand the single blade saks, i always feel there are better suited non-swiss optionsto my needs. (and 19 times out of twenty i will opt for a fixed blade)
For me, if you are right handed I'd chose the Ranger every time. The liner lock on the Vic's is kinda the decider for me as they are put on the "wrong" way round and for anyone that uses a regular liner locking folder as I do it just feels really awkward to release IMO. The Wenger Ranger however has the button release and is very very simple. They also have the moulded scales which I think add nice ergo's and I prefer the blade shape and length of them to.

That can hurt , I had it happen once .Chris
