Arc-P Review
on: January 17, 2010, 12:09:54 AM
The Arc-P was sent to me by Gadget Guy. A very generous Guy I might add! Ok.. here is a quick review from me personally useing this great light. I will digress a little & state by reading all the different Forums that I thought only 80 lumens or more will do the job..ok, in some applications probebly so. I used the Arc-P in a dark basement & outside in pitch black darkness. This baby had a nice spot but also a great spill beam as well which really surprised me. No worry about spot tunnel vision with the Arc-P. The Nichia led is a little on the bluish side & not pure white but, that is how Nichias are & was no big deal for me to see things. It is built like a Tank & from what I could see  there is nothing to go wrong as in clicky's etc. One twist its on & another its off & the twist was smooth both ways. The beam was more than enough to navigate a wooden creek bridge at night in total darkness. If this ever quits working I will get another one without hesitation!

I like the way the battery compartment is coated . If a cell leaks , no biggie !

I will use it as the perfect EDC. Plenty of light as far as I am concerned. This is almost perfect with the nice spill beam. I do watch my batteries twice a week & never leave them in for an extended period of time.

You should be fairly safe with the lithium battery.  :tu:

GG has it right.   I use only Energizer E2 lithium AAA batteries in my Arc AAA-P and other pricey lights.  I've lost too many radios and flashlights to leaking alkaline cells and it doesn't make sense to risk ruining a $45 flashlight to save a couple of dollars on batteries.

Yep GG, the Arc is only going to be fed Lithiums as it is way too nice to get messed up by a leaking battery.

I run a lithium in mine.  In fact, it's still on it's original one despite months of use.
