ah cool, I guess that would make a nice UK legal carry knife then.
It's a couple of mm over legal length to be truly legal edc if I remember rightly

Yeah to be to the letter of the law it needs a bit of a trim.  No biggie though.

done  ;) :D

Very nice Tony. :salute:

Re-the sparks, it really doesn't matter what the blade steel is.  The idea it has to be carbon steel stems form a common  bit of confusion about a method of striking a spark from the back of a blade.  Think of it another way; in a traditional flint+steel you use the flint to cut red hot bits off the steel.  Well you can do the same with a bit of flint on a high carbon blade (it's still the steel that's making the spark and the flint cutting it).
Skip onto your firesteel.  In this case it's the firesteel making the spark (obviously) not the knife, all you really need is something hard and sharp enough to cut the firesteel and produce the sparks.  You could still use a bit of flint, glass, carbon steel and, yes, even stainless. :D  Normally the issue is that the corner on the back edge simply isn't sharp enough to dig into the firesteel, hence no spark. :)

Don't worry mate, I've heard that misconception about the stainless so many times it's no wonder people readily accept it.

If you want to prove it you can always just try making some sparks with the cutting edge. WARNING! This will then entail re-sharpening your knife!  You have been warned. :D
