Does anyone have one of these?

Let alone one for sale?

Jasuma, I'm guessing if somebody has one they will not be too keen to part with it  :)  I could be wrong

I have one.  But it would take serious $ to lure it away.   ;)

Chako has one as well.  One of his earliest posts has quite a few pics of it.

I think they're about $500 US if you can find one online.

I haven't researched this one too closely - but if I see one for $100, I'll be buying it  :P

Thats what I mean by proxy.  Send the money to someone in the states, they buy and then ship to you.  There are some services that will do this for you.

I'm using this company www.myUS.com

You will have to pay a registration fee ($20 I think) and then $10 for the "Personal Shopper" service and fill in the details of the item you want and they buy it for you.

You then have to pay for courier shipping which is quite expensive, but you do get a fast, reliable service (they use DHL or FedEx - you get to choose).

So, it costs a little extra, but it works well.

Dave, for the UK, I would assume using that service would mean you get hit with customs taxes as well, how does it work out cheap at all?  ???

Only way I've figured out of getting stuf from the states is via some kind soul willing to buy and ship it for me, especially now that the UK market for tools and multitools and knives has become so much smaller with the closure of Ebay auctions for these items  :twak:

Thanks for all the advices . Today I just bought few items from www.gad-zooks.com ,they do send the products internationally via US Priority Mail ( And the shipping cost is very cheap ) . It seems take longer times , 2 or 3 weeks .However the price seems reasonable , unfortunately they do not have Damascus Wave . I have to wait for the items arrived first , so I will have the experience  dealing with the customs buraeu to consider the price is low or high . I was told by my acquaintance , that if someone send something as a giftfrom abroad  I do not have to pay for the customs . I will post my experience when my new collection arrived . I will try to buy via www.myus.com as well in the near future , also perhaps if someone willing to help me with the process I will very Thank You for that .  Can wait for my new collections arrived .

Because even with all of these extra costs, even if you get charged imnport duties, things will still often be cheaper than UK RRP. You have to do the maths for each item you're thinking of buying. :)

But of course the main advantage is that it allows you access to things that you you can't buy anywhere else.

Yes it is true but it is also an offense that can land you in prison and/or very hefty fines if you are caught. I did this once for some guy in the UK buying from me and later I was sent a registered letter stating the laws and fines/prison time I could incur so I got scared and never did it again.
