Rolson single led torch,
on: February 24, 2010, 11:44:19 AM
Well the other day my partner had to go into machine mart as has a account there through work, she saw these on the counter for £3.51p she thought i would like them  :D this never happens by the way  ;) well i opened this am, they run on 3 AG13 alkaline batteries , there well made out of aluminum, single LED, ok its not as bright as my tempo but you get 2 of these for a pretty cheap price, i removed the key chain attachment as the lowers section was flimsy and added a small ring and lanyard for now , they come in a cool Ti finnish. I think this would make a nice key chain torch,  :tu:

i was a little put off by the battery type, we will see,one probably wont get used, the other wont get a lot of use but i will swap it with my tempo at the moment just to see how it works out, i would of liked a single AAA as have rechargeable ones, but as i said i dont think these will get a lot of use probably a small back up in my bag,

sounds like a carabiner (sp?) torch I have that never gets used for exactly that reason.  I thought about trying to replace the battery but never could come up with a decent solution to get the 4.5v required.

I have one of those.  The keyring attachment is really flimsy (looks like you swapped yours paul) and the tint is real yucky.  But for the price they do the job.  :tu:

I have a rebranded (GP) version that so far my children haven't swiped.  Not often anyway ::)  Nice little backup, normally hangs on a hook near the fuse box.
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

Those look like solid little torches. They remind me of a Nanolight. Since it uses button cells it should be great for occasional use. The button cells are more costly than AA or AAA cells & sometimes hard to find. I like the looks of it though!

I nearly picked one up too at that price but I have the True Utility 3 led one which is brighter and about the same size. As for the batteries, I bought 100 very cheap at DX and put them in the freezer :)
