Conversion kit or not conversion kit?

Most of you know by now that I have started with shooting and if you have paid any attention then you also know that I want a SIG 226 9 mm. I have been pondering about getting a conversion kit but after speaking with some of the guys that work at club they recommend me getting a decent .22 pistol instead of the conversion kit.

What do you guys think? Is it just a waste of money getting the kit? Is it better to buy a decent 22 instead

I would go with your clubmate's advice . Some conversion units are OK , some less so . A dedicated .22 will probably be better in the long run . If you want to compete in small bore events , a conversion kit is probably a handicap . Following advise can save you a lot , and heighten your enjoyment .

I'd go with a good 22.

I fooled around with multiple caliber conversions for years on the 1911 frame...finally I built up dedicated frames for my Kart and Colt Ace conversions and was much happier with them.

Some say using the same frame improves comfort/accuracy, and 22 is cheaper way to get more practice.
That said, I would still get a separate .22 if you can afford it.

And why can't I find any .380 ammo??
