Possible SAK Knock Off
on: March 24, 2010, 07:37:37 PM
My Father In Law was down today doing a bit of decorating when I was at work. Mrs. C lent him my Swisstool to open the paint. He was quite impressed, obviously :D

So when I come home he said 'I didn't know you collected knives; I've got one for you.' Not being rude I said 'Oh really, thanks.'

He goes out to the car and gives me this. Not sure if it's a Vic or Wenger; what do you think? :D

This saw will cut through anything, honest

Who needs Leatherman's fancy diamond file when you've got this  :D

It looks nice...that's about it really  :-\ Even the scissors struggle  ::)

He told me he got it for £1 in the Pound Shop; really

I know Neil will be dying to trade his MiniMax for this baby; I'm open to offers  :pok:

Oy, my dear old Dad bought one something like that at Harbor Freight Tools last year and proceeded to give it to me like it was prize. I couldn't believe it, and this from a guy who buys 90% Snap-On tools!

As soon as he left I gave it to my brother-in-law who had no knife at all. Later I felt bad so I gave him a Vic Huntsman to replace the POS.

It's kind of an occupational hazard for SAK and Tool collectors I think. People will buy you some real tat for every birthday and Christmas present henceforth....

You just have to smile politely and thank them :D

That said, these sort of tools are very useful for cleaning / restoring good tools. I have a little Micra knock off thing that I use for scraping off rust, knocking out seized pivots, scratching gunk off files etc. It is totally trashed, but worth it's weight in gold :D
I used to come here a lot.
