How to change a bicycle tire...could bring in a tire from a bike What do you normally train people to do?
Why not, how to give a 5-10 minute training course? I'm not kidding either. Most people do not do a very good job on instructing others how to do something. You could give examples of how to setup a logical outline, how to properly use props, graphs, written material. Presenters also need to understand that they have to be relaxed, credible and how to take charge and control their presentation. Since they are giving the presentation, they need to be well versed on their topic of choice. Tailoring the material to your target audience members needs, wants and current skill levels, etc. Also included would be making sure the presenter works smoothly with the material and props they have with them. The merits of speaking clearly and in plain and concise language. Then how address the question and answer period effectively. Even how to deal with difficult audience members or how to smoothly cut off the one person who seems to have an endless supply of questions and wastes everyone's time.Mike
I have done these. I have done an origami bird, making chickens out of tea-towels and how to do ties. I bloody hate doing these things.
Ooooh, paracord!!!! You could teach them how to tie a cobra stitch bracelet. or a key fob. And if you brought enough with you, you could let them make it while you demonstrated. That would be fun.
I really liked Kel's puncture idea
how to sharpen a knife?just take the stone, buy in site some crappy knives...
Hi all,I've got a training course coming up. It's a Train the Trainer course i.e. help me become better at delivering training So our pre-course homework is to deliver a 5 -10 minute session on how to do something. It can be anything but I will need to deliver the session to the group.Examples would be:How to tie a tieHow to make a cup of teaHow to tie a shoe laceHow to change a light bulbHow to change the fuse on a plugetc. No PowerPoint allowed. We are encouraged to use props and create handouts. If I were too choose the 'how to change the fuse on a plug' one I would bring a plug with 2 fuses and demonstrate for all As much fun as how to start a fire and drink a yard of ale would be it wouldn't really be feasible Additionally I will be flying to the course so this also affects my props choice All guidance and ideas welcome

Too much room for disaster! What about how to fold a paper airplane?
www.instructables.comI defy you not to find some great ideas there
So I'm thinking on the Origami bird idea as it is reasonably easy for all to do and the web is awash with resources I'm still open to any new, novel and interesting ideas
No problem And that's Ms. Hedge Kid to you sir!
