Smith & Wesson any good,

Ive just been looking at some of there folders as would like a small folding knife for general use but am wondering if there any good and should i just buy another SAK ? has anyone got one and are they any good,

smith&wessons are made by taylor and they very wildly in quality. I have a few and some are complete trash and others are usable. I have one with a tanto blade and a g10 handle thats pretty decent actually, it still has a 440c blade, so nothing to brag about there.

I am most surprised that Taylor's have not sent one of these too Def too review

my first tactical folder was a Smith and Wesson Baby SWAT.  It was a good knife for many years.  Not the best, but I didn't treat it that great either.  It did everything I asked it to do and other things as well.  Are there better knives out there now? Yes.  Where there when I was 13? Probably, but I didn't know about them.

i just read a review on this model and all seemed good, i like the way it looks, and i agree on the etchings, ive seen these going for £5 but there sold out at the moment,

Its a fairly good knife, g10 handles with liners, all the grind lines match up perfectly, the black oxide blade finish is every bit as good as my benchmades. The bad thing is 440c blade[i guess thats not all that bad] thing is the next one might be total crap.

I bought one 12 years or so ago at a gun show. For a cheaper user it's not bad. Nice clip, sharpens easy, not afraid to throw at someone and run.

I have heard about Taylors knives locks failing , does anyone know how the lock fails exactly  on cheaper questionable quality knives.

People bash S&W knives, but on every "show your EDC knife" thread there are people who carry and use them, and most of the time happy with it.

Treat them as if they are slipjoints or friction folders , an you will be OK .

I was quite tempted to buy this at one time. There's a guy who worked at Katrina said he used one to hack and pry all sorts of thing and it held up fine. But it was on half price then.

I wish i removed the clip before given it away as it could of been handy for a mod, although i dont think i had the right hex driver for it ,

Actually the one I have is pretty good. But ya  want to hear something interesting. S&W has them on thier website, but they dont carry them in the Pro Shop in Spriingfield Ma. Never asked why, but maybe I will in May. Going to a IDPA shoot there then.
