multitool saves the day

I've posted this in the general forum rather than the swiss forum so any non swiss fans can see what they are missing  ;D

In a big storm on the Southern Pacific the rudder system broke in a collision with a floating container and the Genua sail blow open. The only way to steer a boat without the rudder is to trim the sails. So the sails were our last chance. Thanks to the handy «Swiss Tool» from Victorinox, I was able to cut the rope on the top of the 20 m high mast. All this in the wild Southern ocean and finally the sail was free. We were able to go back on curse. After this storm we optimized Pachamama to a vessel that can operate fully autonomous (renewable energies) with maximum safety in the toughest marine environments (Antarctica).

The most used tool to install all these smart and renewable innovations was again the Victorinox «Swiss Tool».

Cant knock them can you ?

Nice!  Of course I am certain any tool handy would have done the job, but it's interesting to see that they singled the SwissTool out!

Here's a picture from that site. I'm thinking a lanyard on the SwissTool might be a good idea.   :o

In order to be certain of having the right tool for every job.........one must first acquire a lot of tools

Yeah, after almost being hit with a falling SwissTool I doubt that guy would be waving with quite so many fingers!
