In a big storm on the Southern Pacific the rudder system broke in a collision with a floating container and the Genua sail blow open. The only way to steer a boat without the rudder is to trim the sails. So the sails were our last chance. Thanks to the handy «Swiss Tool» from Victorinox, I was able to cut the rope on the top of the 20 m high mast. All this in the wild Southern ocean and finally the sail was free. We were able to go back on curse. After this storm we optimized Pachamama to a vessel that can operate fully autonomous (renewable energies) with maximum safety in the toughest marine environments (Antarctica). The most used tool to install all these smart and renewable innovations was again the Victorinox «Swiss Tool».
