i went to work today and got given this http://www.idealindustries.co.uk/product/16/218/49234/lockout_tagout_kit_contractor.html

i havents used it yet and only know how to use some of it, but as i use it expect a running review ill take my own pics someone. Seems like a pretty cool kit to have

EDIT: i thought id add why id find it useful and what i do, im a maintenance engineer in training for a company called romec ( part of royal mail) and thats where 90% of our work is but seeing has were part owned by balfour beatty now were getting more outside jobs. Pretty much we need this kit so we dont have some nonse come along and turn on the mcb of the circuit were working on at the time and more importantly to cover ourselves and any over person who go s ooh look a circuit i might touch it.

Never a truer word said unfortunately. ::)  I have personally see someone move a barrier, ignore a sign, unlock a DB board and try to power up a huge industrial dryer, despite the fact it had someone working inside it (he was stopped BTW).  Never underestimate just how determined stupid people can be. ::)
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

I work for a UK manufacturing company and we use LOTO all over the site. It works well if EVERYONE follows the rules and procedures.

Years ago at my old work two sparks were working on a lift. One on top shouts down to other standing by the controls "what ever you do, DON'T turn it on!" as he put his fingers between the pulley and belts. The chap at the bottom was chatting to someone, all he got was the end of the sentence, and pressed the buttom to turn it on. He didn't loose his fingers, but they were crushed into a dam odd shape from the knuckles to the tips. Not nice.

Now if we had been using LTOT on site that would never of happened.

Stay safe out there guys and girls.
