I'm a big Maxped fan but sold my Jumbo for one main reasons - too damn heavy when full on one shoulder  :(

I have back probs so prolonged carry of a heavier bag on one side really scuppered me. When you put all your lovely shinies and gadgets in it and then add the Kilo of water on the side, it starts to get a big heavy. For any proper weight, I always use two straps on my back now :)

My Fatboy is almost at full capacity when out and about. I would love to trial a Jumbo but I know if I got one the Fatboy would likely be retired  :-\

With any luck my next bag will be a Maxped Pygmy Falcon II :tu: Flashaholics looks like my best price £79.95.

Like Nuph I'd prefer heavier weight spread across my back :D

I'll be having a fundraising sale soon :D

Nuph. , I hear ya , even a fully loaded Fatboy can be pretty uncomfortable , I had to curtail my loadout quite a bit .

It's £62.95 for the one I want: Clicky  :)

The Fatboy is £65.95: Clicky one more time

So, I suppose the question is, how much could I get for the Fatboy?

And the other question is, do I want to part with the Fatboy in the first place?

 :ahhh

But it'll be the last bag you'd ever need to buy, as they really are fantastically well made, and pretty much bombproof :)

And yes Dave you do need one, as the extra capacity is what sold the Jumbo to me :)
Give in, buy several Farmer's!!!!!!

Hmm,

I'm not so sure about the lighter (800 denier) nylon on the EDC variant, and the 1050 denier version is an extra 20 quid :-\

I was the same Ryan until I bit the bullet and got the Fatboy. It was $59 plus shipping from EDCDepot but worth every penny  :tu:

Maxped just know how to make bags to suit us EDC nuts  :salute:

Some of their bags are well over £100  :o

OK, I found somewhere selling the 1000 denier Jumbo for pretty much the same price as Heinnies are selling the 800 denier EDC / LEO versions.

If I go for the "traditional" Jumbo as opposed to the EDC version the differences are (I think):

- :) You get the storm collar on the main compartment (seems to me that this is a good thing, the lightweight versions don't look waterproof);
- :( You lose the grab handle;
- :) It's a tougher bag;
- :( It's heavier;
- :) You get the mesh pocket inside the front zipped pocket as opposed to the elastic mag-holder;
- :) You get the webbing on the bottom (you never know);
- :) There's more PALS webbing, so I can use the Phone / PDA holster that I already have for my camera;

:) = 5
:( = 2

All for an extra seven quid. Decision's made :)

I think you made a good call . I kinda wish I had a jumbo , but at the time I got mine , back in Jurassic times the Fatboy was the only option .

Tbh, I thought the Fatboy would do me fine, but after 6 months of regular carry, I'm sure I need something a bit bigger, and the ability to carry a drink is something I've missed on numerous occasions.

I'm pretty sure the Jumbo is the way to go, but I'm keeping my options open and holding on to the Fatboy for now, maybe what I really need is the option of either :)
