Well so far for cutting tasks I've been very pleased with the case.  I think if I were to buy one of my own I'd go for a two blade model though.

As expected the lack of other tools has proven problematic.  But knowing this would happen I've had SAKs on standby around the place :D
I'm not taking any more mod orders at present, sorry.

I do have a nice little...    :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh !!! Mini !!! :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh on me but its tool complement is somewhat sparse.   Its pairs up nicely with my SAKs but not an ideal candidate to go with the Case.

Neil , I think you would find a trapper to be a better solution than a Stockman , a two bladed Barlow style would be another option . The traditional case trapper with the yellow Delrin scales is a good choice , very hard to lose due to the Yellow , Delrin wears well , much under rated as a scale . Jigged Bone breaks too easily if dropped , Stag is nice , but good Stag is tuff to find , it also shrinks and checks over time .

Queen Cutlery makes some Delrin scaled D2 Trappers , nice pieces . Quality is prolly superior to Case ( which can be spotty ) . The main reason Case is an icopnic collector's piece , is the ease with which they can be dated .

I have carried a yellow med. case stockman with the cv steel for three+ years. It has done well enough i later purchased a slimline trapper model that does not print through the pocket much to carry when i want to keep a decent blade sort of hidden and still have a working sharp blade. The stockman pattern gives me 2 decent easily sharpened blades, and the spey is my digging, prying blade that sees little use but rather than nick up the other blades i'm glad its there when i use it.Being a meatcutter and a outdoorsman when i get the chance have plenty of knives and tools, but the little yellow stockman is most likely to be in my pocket.

BUMP :pok: :pok:

::) Been off the forum for a few days and all I get is hassle ;)

Yes the Case is still in daily use, this morning I used the clip point blade to score a box around the inside to allow me to fold it down to into a smaller box.  Although it was the blade for the job I'm still going for the wharncliffe nine out of ten times.

Nice knife Gareth :tu: Do you ever use the spey blade?  If so what for?  So far its the blade that has seen no use.

It's for spreading Marmite on crackers... :D

My Case stockman really has become a "go to" standard for me, lots of pocket time both at work and at home.

When I first saw this thread, I thought it would be a dissertation on why Victorinox should be replaced by something.   :ahhh

I couldn't bear to open it.  Imagine my relief.  :ahhh :P
