Victorinox and Wenger SAK's for trade
on: May 26, 2010, 12:45:48 AM
OK here are a few duplicates from my collection that I am putting up for trade here on the "EDC Swap Shop". First let me say that I do not know what I want for them exactly so lets talk. Please be patient as I might not be online to respond quickly every time to a PM or trade request. My entire Photobucket Trade Album is here- http://s220.photobucket.com/albums/dd39/stressmaster5000/For%20sale%20or%20trade/ and there are detailed descriptions for most photos.

Victorinox Golfer 91mm- http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Golfer+91mm
I have 5 of these Victorinox Golfers-91mm(Early Compact model)-(pre Hook style) all in good used condition. MODDERS get a 91mm Combo tool for those MODS you have planned. They each have the items you see in the photos. One has an etched blade with some foreign company name. The rest do not.  Ink pens work, nothing broken or bent, each has the older screw-style pivot on the scissors, combo tools and a mini screwdriver in the corkscrew. The "Plus" scales are pre Stick Pin so if you want a pin you will need to make a hole for it.

Wenger/Victorinox Hybrid 84mm Bantams- http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Bantam
I have 3 of these. These are just like a regular Victorinox Bantam but the main blade has the "Wenger" tang stamp and the front scale has the "Wenger" shield. Sure to become a rarity someday. These are all in great shape with nothing missing, each having the regular Victorinox manufactured main blade, combo tool, keyring, toothpick and tweezers all housed in the standard red cellidor Victorinox style scales.

Wenger Golf Pro(Green with company name on back)-http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Golf+Pro
This Wenger Golf Pro is Green with the crossed golf clubs in white on the front scale and has "Morgan Stanley Funds" in white block lettering on the back scale. Everything works fine with no problems.
Photos-

Wenger Monarch (large 7-layer knife)-http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Monarch
This knife is an older discontinued model in decent average used condition. I would not call this "collection display" quality but it is still snappy and in very good serviceable shape. All tools are snappy and open properly. Here is a detailed description of all its tools and any flaws.
The red scales are in average well used condition with a small 5-6mm chip missing near the toothpick end. See it here- http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd39/stressmaster5000/For%20sale%20or%20trade/WengerMonarch-17.jpg
This knife has the old standard 30mm chain with keyring, plastic toothpick and tweezers. They are all complete and working properly. See here-http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd39/stressmaster5000/For%20sale%20or%20trade/WengerMonarch-19.jpg
The main knife blade is not bent and looks whole like it has never been resharpened. It does need to be sharpened though.
The nail file is in perfect working order.
The scissors work properly but have one small flaw. Someone cut a low voltage small wire before cutting power to it and there is a very small burn mark on the one side. It still works fine. I can provide a photo of this flaw if you need. I forgot to shoot it when taking photographs. It really is pretty minor but still noticeable.
The wood saw might have been used once or twice but is shiny and in great shape.
The metal saw looks like new and has no rust or rust type marks on it. Looks like it might not have ever been used.
The fish tool has the newer style "line guide" but no gradation markings and is like new.
The magnifying glass shows some use and the flat screwdriver tip shows some scratching and ever so slight tip twist. You have to look close to see this though. See it here-http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd39/stressmaster5000/For%20sale%20or%20trade/WengerMonarch-13.jpg
The bottle opener has scratching on the screwdriver tip and has an ever so slight tip twist.Pretty minor though. See it here-http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd39/stressmaster5000/For%20sale%20or%20trade/WengerMonarch-14.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd39/stressmaster5000/For%20sale%20or%20trade/WengerMonarch-10.jpg
The can opener looks like it has been used but has no problems.
The Awl and Phillips Screwdriver are straight and work properly. Here is the bottom mounted Phillips screwdriver-http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd39/stressmaster5000/For%20sale%20or%20trade/WengerMonarch-16.jpg
More Photos(19 total)-

Wenger Tradesman-http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Tradesman
This is a 4 layer knife with the Wenger Slipjoint Pliers. The red scales show normal EDC wear but are whole and complete. The toothpick and tweezers are there but there is no keyring. I could find one if needed. All the tools are snappy and close properly too. The main blade looks like it has never been resharpened but is dull and needs to be sharpened and has a slight tip bend that does not show up in photos. The small clip point blade is sharp and has a very slight tip bend. It too is too small to notice in a photo. Both the Pliers and Scissors work properly as does the Awl and bottom mounted Phillips Screwdriver.
Photos-

Wenger Diplomat in Ruby Red-http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Diplomat
Here is a strange discontinued model. This 2 layer knife has ruby red scales that show wear but still look nice. The main blade looks like new and has a sharp edge. The nail file works properly and look like new. The scissors function like new with no problems. It has the keyring and tweezers but this model never had a toothpick. There is not even a place for it. There are no bottom tools at all. This makes a nice EDC with minimal weight and size.

adding a few more to the list;

84mm Electricians http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Electrician+84mm
Got a couple of used 84mm Electricians need new homes. These are single layer SAK's that have the Electricians blade, a round Phillips Screwdriver and the main blade. Also a T&T but no key rings. All have been used typically and I noticed someone sharpened the electrician blades some. I think they were supposed to be chisel ground edges but only the wire stripper notch is still flat or chisel ground. I may be wrong on that but anyway they are in good shape. Main blades are fine as well.

84mm Salesman(Super Tinker) http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Salesman
This knife has had the blades abused slightly and I already have a better one in my collection so maybe someone here wants a good user model. It is basically a small Super Tinker with no Hook on the back side. The main blade has the tip broken off and slightly re-profiled. Some used a carbide sharpener on it a little. There is a close up photo of it in the photos. The small  blade has a small chip near the tip and is buggered up some. It too looks like someone hit it a lick or two with a carbide sharpener. They are not bent. Both blades should be easily fixed with some time on a whetstone. The scissors have a new spring installed and they have the old style screw pivot and work properly. Both openers are like new(no half stop on the bottle opener). Awl and Phillips Screwdriver are in fine shape. This is not a "Victoria" model.

84mm Golfers http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Golfer+84mm
These are all used models but still serviceable. All the main blades have been sharpened but really only one shows scuffing while the 2 others look fine. All combo tools are non-half stop models with squared tops(ie. not rounded). One combo tool has had the tip cutting edge slightly sharpened to open cans better I suppose. The corkscrews are all older grooved type and in like new condition. Each scissors work properly and are the older screw pivot style. I replaced a spring in one of them. The scales are all average users with the normal wear and tear, scuffs and scrapes one would expect for a 20-30 year old knife. Many folks here steal the scissors out of one of these old Golfers to make a modded 84mm Cadet with scissors or other such trickery.

Here are some more up on the trading block.

91mm Regular Compact with Plus Scales! http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Compact
Here are 2 newer style Compacts with plus scales. Both of these have the new Multi-Purpose Hook with the file surface on the back side. All the things are included in the photos. Ink pens work, toothpicks, tweezers, stick pins and the Mini-Screwdrivers are all there. Scales show average EDC wear. One has a 4-line tang stamp(before-2005) and the other one has a 3 line tang stamp(2005 and newer). Both are snappy and work great!

84mm Pocket Pals http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=Pocket+Pal+84mm
I have at least 6 Pocket Pals all used for trades. These are each 2 blade models as seen in the SAKWicki link. Each shows wear but some are much better than others. There are a couple different Shield varieties; Hot Stamped and Color Printed.

Special Victorinox Shield key chain and Ruby Classic-Rare!

This is a special piece that is pretty hard to find for sale any more. The key chain has a square type loop of metal at the end with the standard Victorinox Shield stamped/embossed into the metal. The chain has 3 links and terminates at another smaller ring. The large part will accept a large key ring as there is plenty of room inside. I have only seen these for sale in special packages usually with a Ruby Classic. The Ruby classic knife is used.

Wenger VIP's http://www.sakwiki.com/tiki-index.php?page=V+I+P
These are all used in various grades. Some are in great shape while others have seen more use but all are functioning and have straight blades, scissors, etc. None of these have a key ring. A couple have some company names on them(Popular Science on one). The VIP is basically like a larger version of the Esquire. You will be surprised at how much larger the blades seem when you use one. I would compare them to a Victorinox Ambassador but the blade is still slightly wider.
