Worn PST wire cutter jaws.

Hi all,

I have noticed that through years of use, my PST's wire cutters are very worn.  Is this something Leatherman will replace free of charge under warranty?

I don't know for certain, but that seems like it should be a warranty issue.

They may sharpen them for you.

I used a Dremel tool and the fine wheel to sharpen the boogered cutters on my PST. They will cut wire and thick plastic fine but don't cut paper like new Leathermans and there is a teeny little gap between the blades.

I can say that I had sent back a PST 6 years ago for the exact same issue and they did not sharpen that tool but replaced it with a new one. That is why I have a good many of the Leatherman tools. I have sent 3 tools back for gross neglect and Leatherman, and SOG were the 2 that fixed teh issue when they knew it was my fault. I wont say what company was the third, but I have slammed a specific tool that they have come into.

Leatherman's customer service is excellent, however I'd hate to counsel someone to depend on it.  It is likely that Leatherman will replace or repair the tool for you, but I nor anyone here can speak for them.

I'd suggest contacting customer service for their suggestions before doing anything else.
