Hi there;

I posted at the new members forum for just say hi!

I was also biddig at that brown farmer because I try to collect
pioneers and farmers for just a few months now.
I looks at internet at more sites and forums, but it is not easy to find
differend collored pioneers and farmers to start collect.
That's why I have to look also at ebay.
I was buying there an gold pioneer and blue farmer.
Also I found an green farmer at sosak-filinevet.
I search now for months day in day out and I have to be patient but
at this moment it is not easy to find collored sak's to starts an collection.
30$ to 70$ are the prices where I can live with ,but that brown pioneer
gets over the top.I'm out.
I have to take it easy and has be patient,it takes long time and a lot of money
that,s why I only look now for pioneers and farmers.

So far so good.....Jan..

I would suggest keeping a close eye on this forum and on Felinevet's shop as he usually announces any new colored ALOX he gets or is getting here first.  When you see something you like, I suggest you send him a message about it right away, as these models are often limited to about 50 pieces, and they go fast.

I have recently had Brown Alox Pioneers, Gold Alox Pioneers, Purple Alox Farmers, Black Alox Solos, and Green Farmers. I always post when I have new ones coming in. I sell direct to people here on the forum for much less than those going on eBay.

I know now that I was to late to start collecting,That's why I missing the most models
and have to search everywhere I can find some.
I have to keep an eye on this forum for the future and have to try the WTB section on this forum to.
But some are hard to find and the prices are rising because the limited editions and to much collectors.

I've seen the winner of a brown pioneer before... "Precious... my precious"

Well, this is my first post here, because i just made it to this forum from SOSAK. I feel you shouldn't get disappointed. I kinda felt the same way when i first came to SOSAK a couple of years ago. Very friendly people, but massive collections and even more knowledge, and I didn't know where to start from with my humble three SAKs (Tinker, classic and 04 soldier). Anyway, i was puzzled at first, then i started reading and learning things and buying knives. I bought some, sold some others i didn't like so much in the end, and finally became much wiser and well with a lot more SAKs. I am happy with my collection now, and i am confident i can grow it even more with careful steps. In the process, i learn lots of things and have fun. so it needs some patience but in the end you get what you want. Also felinevet is your best friend in starting a collection, very knowledgeable, excellent service and tons of knives. Most of my collection would be non existent but for him.

More generally now on alox prices, lately there is a sharp increase on ebay. it could be fashion or some people thinking that Victorinox will eventually stop producing them, or simply people with extra cash putting it in knives. For one reason or another, demand for SAKs and coloured alox in particular seems high. However, i think that these special edition models were produced in very limited numbers compared to the usual (for instance a highly rare knife like the Walther was produced in 2,000 units if i remember well) and were sold very quickly, so the price could be justified. of course it is collector's value and not the actual value of the knife. if this trend continues (it is just after the knives were sold), these might be very expensive in a couple of years.

You should have seen how much some of of the white cross Alox SAK's were going for around Christmas time.  It was crazy.
