Hope you are enjoying MTO nakken
Nice multi, nakken. As I always say, "don't be afraid of the dark." (Image removed from quote.)
I’ve found this works for me: First remove all oil and dirt to get back to a ‘metal-on-metal’ contact environment at the pivot. This is best done via a long soaking in water and strong detergent, with repeated opening/closing and flushing. Once dry, use the pivot stiffness to build friction at the pivot by repeated opening/closing. You want to feel some heat at the pivot, as this shows the friction is building up and the metal is bedding in. The pivot may even get stiffer as the pivot heats up and builds up some metal grindings. Once it’s apparent the friction has helped a little, only then add a light oil and this will draw out the filings (dark gunky oil). You may need to repeat everything again. It’s a slow process, but I’ve found this works for me...
