More Stroud Stuff

I finally put the power of that Internet thingie to use, and found some of Les Stroud's older stuff online.  Watched the "Summer" episode of "Stranded", the predecessor to "Survivorman."  Got a kick out of (a decidedly long-haired) Les repeatedly singing the praises of his Swiss Army Knife.  Looked like the same Huntsman as used in the "Boreal Forest" episode of "Survivorman."  And he uses it extensively.

If you haven't seen this, it's fun.  You can see him working out all the basic ideas of doing "Survivorman" here.  I've got the "Winter" episode on tap for this evening after I get back to the hotel from dinner.  Interesting to see how that goes.

Amici,
The one thing I was very happy about with "Surivorman" was how Les realized that he should move away from the "2 pens, scooby doo underwear, and gum" and started concentrating on the serious issues of staying alive..

That's what separates him from "Dual Survival" and "Man vs. Wild", is his delivery. Les never did or put himself in stupid situations, exclaimed not too do it to the audience, then did it anyway.. With Les you always got the real deal..

Cheers,
Serge
