After a year out of work my perseverance has paid off,I start a new job tomorrow as a Tig/Mig welder,I spent the afternoon submitting weld tests and got a reply and start a few hours later, good job my nerves were solid at the time  :ahhh  :D

The pay is not too shabby either £8 per hour to start with increases as time goes on  :D LOL I see a new chopper on the horizon amongst other goodies  :o

Good luck!  Great to hear that you have found a job!

I've been unemployed for over 2 years now, and just getting back with a small job. 1 day a week, maybe 2 later, no big thing. But it feels good to be back, and having a little bit money for me is just great!

Congrats! I have my last day at work on sunday. It's a summer/part time job (I'm 22) that I've had for 7 years, move tomorrow to a new college. Having something to do with one's time is certainly about more than just getting money, I've had a week off and already bored.

Although I have to ask, was £8 a typo (for £18)? I always thought the UK and Norway were pretty evenly matched for pay, and £8/hour doesn't even get you a 16 year old summer employee over here

We are not evenly matched it seems,£8 per hour is average for a welder over here  :ahhh I think the minimum wage introduction has killed proper wage increases as employers only have to comply with that legislation currently £5.80 per hour increasing in October to £5.93  ;) so other employers only increase wages average 15 or less pence a year  :ahhh

And true, no such thing as a job for life these day. You're basically on four week contract ::)

Best of luck though  :tu:
